I remember the tale told by my education prof of animals in a school where the owl didn’t do well because he hunted at night well, but in digging tunnels class he did poorly. Each animal did fair to poor because they may have done well in one class, but fair to poor in the other. The only animal who did well was one who was mentally challenged, but could kind of do everything “OK.”
I think of this every time I remember arguing about the bell curve with professors.
