Do you suppose Anthony Weiner is the Democratic Sarah Palin? Is he a decoy to provide grist for the media and distract us all from the important issues? Are both parties thumbing their noses at us and laughing at our faith in a system that is bought and paid for and being run with complete disregard for the citizenry? I mean come on – there is no way Anthony Weiner can distance himself from his self debasement.

You know, when I first heard he sent pictures to women of a bulge in his underwear I said, “Big deal, and we let pols get away with a lot worse, like Helms having sex with a prisoner on the way to the death chamber, or Morning Joe: as a pol in Pensacola, having an unquestioned dead intern on his floor.” But the way he goes on, so clueless: continuing to force himself on others who never asked for the “attention,” well… damn this guy needs to go away, far away, from the spotlight.
Apparently there were other photos that were much more graphic and of course could not be shown on TV.
I don’t think that we should disregard these ‘indiscretions’ because we have let others get away with them, but that we should instead press for more ethical behavior from all of us. It may not have been illegal – though some of the shots I have seen could be considered porn – but IMO it was unethical, and of course he then lied about it. To me, this all implies a personality that will not hesitate to lie and act unethically in the future in his work.
