“OK, we’ll have a side order of bipolar, a big heaping pile of paranoia slathered with Obsessive-Compulsive behavior sauce, and for desert… schizophrenia with extra anxiety nuts.”
Immediately I heard some folks on the left respond to Mr. Rove’s comments about Hillary with the typical come back both sides use, which in this case amounted to, “Yeah, well you’re ‘brain damaged.'”
Such comebacks usually translate into, “Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.”
Karl Rove, in my unprofessional opinion, is not mentally ill, or “damaged” in the same sense he insinuated Hillary was. And let’s be honest here: he insinuated. There is a difference: much of what Donald Sterling and Cliven Bundy said and did can be classified as racism, or the opposite of being a true patriot. What Rove said, and does: far more insidious. But let’s be honest again: the job Rove does sort of requires such of political operatives, Karl’s just quite talented in that regard. This time, however, he screwed up… almost as bad as he screwed up insisting the tide was going to turn after the second time votes were supposed to be funneled out of state to a server, like 04 and Tennessee.
Three cheers for Anonymous. Having been involved in that campaign and when the votes came back “washed” after being funneled off to Tennessee, it was obvious what had happened. And Karl’s surprise, his insistence that the tide would turn, was damn near a guilty plea, in my opinion.
Brain damaged? Nah, I doubt it. But if we’re talking about Karl being a sociopath, well, that’s another conversation. Rove’s main sociopath-like talents are at starting such whisper campaigns, smearing folks and destroying their reputations. Kind of like Don Siegelman, or Valerie Plame.
In comparison, Rove’s recent comment was a big yawn, in my opinion. However, there is an issue of brain damage: intentional brain damage, here.
Not Karl’s.
Not Hillary’s.
This brain damage is massive and has to do with the masses. It has been going on for years. No, Karl is not brain damaged: Rove is one of the many professional purveyors of damaging as many brains as possible in the country… preying on the gullible, the thoughtless and the already brainwashed. But it’s by no means just Mr. Rove.
Symptoms of this brain damage among the masses include people who believed the NRA that certain pols: always on the left, are always threatening to take away their guns. Pushing the perception that they are focused on doing everything they can to take away everyone’s guns: mass hysteria in the form of NRA driven paranoia. To be open and honest I was once a member: I quit when it was obvious it had become less an organization about gun safety, and those who do enjoy guns, and more a one sided political organization wearing a Halloween-like mask called “gun rights.”
Symptoms include folks whose brains are so damaged they are convinced the ACA is “government health care” and dismiss the fact the insurance is through the same, often bad, actors we had before. And folks who believe that Benghazi was some horrible plot where something unusual happened, instead of just one in a long list of embassy attacks where people died.
What we have is not a Karl Rove claiming Hillary Clinton has brain damage problem, we have a problem with Karl and many others having a vested interest in causing brain damage, like convincing folks John McCain had a illegitimate black child. Or that Terri Schiavo was murdered,Vince Foster personally targeted by the Clintons. When these purveyors of brain damage aren’t targeting the left, they’re targeting those on their side who aren’t always politically correct. And if McCain qualifies as anything it’s a wild card.
It’s all manipulation, all a ruse, the list of bad actors is indeed quite long. It’s sociopaths doing what they do best: get whatever they want by whatever means.
Limbaugh and his Fluke slander-fest? Yeah, he sure sounded like he had fun, but do you seriously think he didn’t know better? No, it’s intentionally trying to damage folks, make them think this “slut,” Sandra, was trying to get the public to buy truckloads of birth control for her personal use. Never you mind truckloads of birth control would be no more affective than the right amount.
So, yes, blame Mr. Rove for all he does. But Rove doesn’t have brain damage, anymore than Hillary does. Mentally illness is intentionally being broadcasted out to the people, and some amount of madness is to be expected.
We need to confront them, keep exposing them for who they are: Most of all we need thousands of potential Joseph Welsh-es asking in pubic, “Have you no sense of decency?” And thousands of Smedley Butlers to thwart their efforts.
Maybe, eventually, the healing will begin.
