If you’re a recent subscriber to the Paradise Post, you may not yet have realized that the paper has two local columnists on its editorial page. I’m one of ’em, mostly representing the liberal spectrum of opinion. The other columnist is a “conservative” who, coincidentally, is also a retired teacher. His right-wing views run on Wednesdays. He’s a genial fellow, both in print and in person, but his genial tone often masks some not-so-genial views, especially on the subject of a woman’s right to choose.
He’s a Catholic, and he is virulently opposed to abortion, which is his right, of course. But sometimes his zeal for the unborn makes him a little less than considerate of the people who are already here.
