You’d think there would be a general public outcry against privatizing prisons and other detention facilities in the wake of this scam, but, if there has been, I haven’t heard about it.
Judges sending thousands of kids to jail to get a kickback? As Mark Twain said, “It’s no wonder that truth is stranger than fiction. Fiction has to make sense.” I doubt even a Hollywood scriptwriter would come up with something this demented.
I don’t believe in the death penalty but, if I did, these two ‘judges’ would be at the head of the line.
Ths is why H.L. Mencken chuckled whenever someone said “Your honor” in a courtroom.
