I live in Tennessee and I just learned that after initially supporting the stimulus package, Gov. Bredesen has said he may not accept at least one part of the money from the Feds. Education, I believe. Feel free to correct me. Left bloggers are abuzz and angry.

There is a problem they haven’t considered. Accepting the money requires that once that money runs out Tennessee kicks the rest of the funding. Tennessee has no income tax, and I doubt it will ever get one. Attempting to push one; worse than suggesting we raise other taxes, is political suicide. It won’t happen. Ever. Well, at least I doubt in my life time.

Our sales tax, and other taxes, are on the par with say NY.

We need to rethink and revise that part of the bill. Bredesen is a Democrat. Pure? By no means. But he’s about as Dem as we’re going to get for now.

Otherwise, anyone for turning a red state more red?
