American terrorist Dylann Roof was indicted for murder, attempted murder and weapons charges in South Carolina on Tuesday. Roof is the young white supremacist who posed for photos with the Confederate banner before he massacred nine black worshipers at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston on June 17.
Roof’s rampage sparked a movement to remove the Confederate battle flag from the grounds of the state Capitol in Columbia, South Carolina. A Ku Klux Klan group vowed to hold a rally in support of the rebel flag at the statehouse on July 18, even though Palmetto State politicians voted overwhelmingly last week to remove the banner.
According to the Pulitzer Prize-winning Charleston Post and Courier, a group called the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan referred to Roof as “a young warrior” even though the so-called warrior waged a cowardly attack on unarmed black people praying in church.
