Wile_E_Coyote

by Ken Carman
About a week after I started writing this “news” twits were all a twit-ing about the DOJ giving immunity to an ex-Clinton staffer as if it was a foregone conclusion dirt and guilt had been found. Yet all I could think of was Wile E. Coyote. This investigation, like Benghazi, has been going on how long? How many ACME like moments where it either backfires, or nothing happens? How many times has the media been complicit? How many times has the MSM not reported how this has been stretched out with the obvious intent to go up to election time?
Remember how well that “absolute” “gotcha” Benghazi testimony moment went as she was under fire for… how long? Not so well, eh?
Maybe we start by quoting a former president from the other party the MSM refused to hold responsible for a damn thing…

“Is we learning yet?”

It’s Tuesday: Super Tuesday, as I start to type this. As channel 4 (NBC in Nashville) reports the upcoming election, they also announce that another batch of Hillary Clinton E-mails has been released. You know for a fact the committee has already dissected these, passed the information on to Republicans: including any candidates who might run against Hillary, or Bernie. They know what’s in those E-mails. But all they said was some of them were NOW considered “classified;” not when the information was typed into her E-mails: NOW.
Not a single mention of what kind of information.
You certainly must realize they would be more specific if there was really was anything here of any significance, right? You know they’d at least say,”there’s one highly questionable E-mail…”
And you know if it was possible they’d be beating her with actual content, not insinuations, right?
Sometimes they are so nakedly obvious in the partisan game they’re playing.
Please don’t insult me with the suggestion they won’t because they “care” about what’s classified, or National Security. Hog swill.
Like a virgin and his first experience, all these investigations has had plenty of their “oops!” moments where they got all hot and bothered and then supposedly “damaging” information was been released… usually out of context. Indeed they seem to enjoy the quick orgasm release each brings, only for us to find all so unsatisfying. This is societal rape. It’s all about power, control. This is SOP.
Remember Ken Starr and his “leaks?” And anyone being honest about the Joe Wilson/Valerie Plame affair knows they don’t give a %$#@ about anything but gaining political advantage. Gaining political advantage to these folks matters far more than national security, the Constitution or their claim of patriotism, love of country.
Recently I have been having arguments and discussions on a Facebook forum about Hillary v. Bernie. I’ll be up front: I’m more a Bernie guy, philosophically, than Hillary. But if Hillary is the candidate I refuse to let the other guys have it. I will vote: either way. But people who say there’s no difference between the Clintons and the Republicans are, intentionally or not, pushing ignorance. A simple Google of bills either partner signed, or worked on, shows that. Some are problematic, but obviously as many, or more, aren’t.
But FB is a fact free forum, especially for some who may qualify more as sock puppets rather than actual Bernie, or Hillary, supporters.
By the way, if you post a meme using a right wing talking point: that Hillary “loves the KKK,” because she has hugged Robert Bird, hugged him after he had rejected his former association with the KKK… and for many years, he had sponsored anti-Klan legislation… don’t be surprised if someone points out your behavior is very sock puppet-ish. Get your talking points and tactics from Teabaggers and other Reich wing shills much?
But, for all of us the non-sock puppets out there, here is my question…
”Why does the left insist on rewarding and enabling such bad behavior?”
One specific discussion I’ve had is about Hillary’s un-favorability factor. I have no doubt perceptions are bad after 30 years plus of The Arkansas Project, local yokel fanatics with a personal, partisan, ax to grind going back to her husband being a governor, Then we have all the witch hunts, like Whitewater became, Benghazi, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc….
But, whether she’s the candidate, or not, why would we reward Joseph McCarthy-like behavior?
After eight years of all they kept doing to Barack Obama there shouldn’t be a single damn doubt this has far less to do with the Hillary, or Bill, or Bernie, than the new right mimicking their “intellectual” hero: Joe McCarthy.
Why do they keep doing it? Because they know we’ll reward them for doing it, that’s why. They know that there’s a dog eat dog element on the left; one they even encourage with, well, paid sock puppets. You know, kind of like those who publish memes claiming Hillary loves the Klan?
And if Bernie wins you damn well know they’ll do it to him too. One hopes they’ve underestimated him, but with their stranglehold on much of the media, I’m not so sure.
Yes, there are concerns. That’s why Bernie’s my first choice.
The problem today is we too easily jump on assumption bandwagons.
There are plenty things to question about Hillary; done in a civil fashion. Yes, too frequently, she opposes things like gay marriage then supports them, just to provide one example. This happens so often it sure does seem like it’s more shifting with the wind than an actual change of heart.
But punishing candidates for coming over from the darker side is also a bad idea. We shouldn’t be punishing those who move on from ill conceived positions.
So, today, in Tennessee, I’m off to vote Bernie. But I also have no interest in enabling party purists. Leave that to the imploding Republican Party. If we’re wise, we best not go there, for the imploding we hear now is absolutely due to them demanding purity.
Yes, I will vote Bernie today. But whichever becomes the Dem candidate is the one I will absolutely vote for.
