Hopefully we’ll soon have our own debate room set up here. But for now…
God: Super Nazi?
I clicked on this one at first just for fun. The premise seemed absurd. Of course it’s actually a debate regarding what we perceive as God’s nature. I do find it scary the people who think they absolutely; without a doubt, know. To me, they are the kind of folks who just might fly into towers.
Here’s an excerpt from on of my own posts and a link to the front page. If you want to comment you’ll have to register.
“What most people don’t seem to get is that simply because someone else claims God is that or that: no matter how many people claim it, or how good they supposedly were, or “divinely inspired” it is claimed they are/were, still doesn’t mean God actually is either super Nazi, or vengeful, or all loving… or anything else. It doesn’t even necessarily mean there actually is God.”
“Many people have believed something that’s horribly wrong.”
“Brilliant people can be quite mistaken or misguided: or both.”
“And I have noticed from time to time when truth is revealed, sometimes it goes far beyond an M. Night-like surprise ending where upon that revealing moment almost all of us gasp and say, ‘didn’t see that coming.'”
“(I’m assuming there’s always at least one guy/gal who may have been been forced to live in a desert and eat locusts because his ideas are so odd who knew the truth.)”
