“The dog ate my homework! The check is in the mail! The teleprompter…”-OEN
On the day set aside to celebrate our nation’s Declaration of Independence from England, our current leader staged an expensive spectacle in the nation’s capital in which he made the following remarks.
“As long as we stay true to our cause,” he said, reading from a teleprompter, “–as long as we remember our great history–as long as we never, ever stop fighting for a better future–there is nothing that America can’t do.”
And, in that same stirring speech in which Trump touted the need to “remember our great history,” he said: “In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces encamped around Boston and New York ,” Trump read from the teleprompter, then continued reading. “…The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware, and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown. Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory.”
