The past 4 plus years remind me of an episode of classic Trek called Dagger of the Mind. America has been locked in a room where the nation is forced to listen to repeating claims, like one that started in 2015 and never ended: if Trump loses it always MUST be rigged.
Keep repeating claims as if they are proven facts and weak minds believe.
Inspection Was there ANY way he and his enablers would have accepted losing? A rhetorical question like, “Is water wet?” You KNOW the answer.
Early AM, can’t sleep: the TV is my lullaby with New Age music on 856: Direct TV. Or one of the exploratory channels featuring shows like, How the Universe Works or Unearthed. Shows interesting, but not interesting enough to keep me awake.
 Scroll.
 Scroll.
 Scroll.
Hey, I found 3 channels I never noticed before: Idea, SALE and Xtra. Let’s see what’s on them! Infomercial. Infomercial. Infomercial… god, doesn’t Direct TV have enough infomercial channels? Like far more than half of their channels?
At that point I hadn’t noticed is these 3 channels were also ‘selling’ something else.
Oh, wait! What’s this between the info-gunk? Some ‘documentary’ called, Here is the Evidence. Press more information, evidence for voter fraud? And all three channels are playing it. When one is on infomercial mode another plays it, so between the three Here’s the Evidence was pretty much always on. Always on.
OK, I was suspicious already, but let’s check it out! The first words out of the talent’s mouth and “click!” I went elsewhere.
Really, you want to show me ‘evidence’ and the first words I hear are about the “Obama/Biden intelligence community?” So Barack Obama and Joe Biden went through all the 3 letter agencies, homeland, etc, gutted them, and put in their own puppets? Gee, wasn’t that more like what Trump has been doing, and demanding loyalty to the point of absolute obedience? Talk about the making of a “deep state.”
Apparently Direct TV was all in on sucking people in via a faux-yuck-umentary. Making sure common sense gets sucked out of the weak minded. The intent behind strapping Captain Kirk in the chair.
But Captain Kirk wasn’t weak minded. Neither am I. They present claims as proof; which is no proof at all.
I understand. Maybe I didn’t give it a fair hearing. So I recorded another repeat… so many to be had… and then went through as much of the Goebbels-ish-ness as I could stand.
One claim right after another: claim, claim, claim… claim everyone was ignoring the evidence for each claim… And that evidence is… that evidence is… that evidence is… oh, just go on to another claim, another claim, and then claim a bipartisan committee agreed. Care to share the name of that committee? Who was on it? No? Just skip on to more claims?
 Anyone sense a pattern here?
But, you know, there have been plenty of elections the left has claimed have been stolen. Yet all those years Republicans had zero interest. So NOW they CLAIM they care about election integrity?
Some of the claims were so easy to explain, so easy they were laughable. Increased voting in districts where, oh, let’s say Kemp and company suppressed in Georgia? Let’s see: COVID and the ability to bypass the lines, long drives, getting in and finding you have bee wrongly purged… maybe all that brought in so many mail in votes?  OH! WAIT! Claim, claim, claim, claim about mail in voting. OK, so let’s find those lost ballots! Hey, you REALLY want ‘evidence?’ Find them and COUNT them. People can be actually caught hiding them, or losing them, or… so… oh, no interest in that. Just move on to claims, claims, more claims… 3 Hours of muddy claims thrown up against the wall, hoping some will stick. A lot of mud that could apply to 2000, 2004, 2016, when YOU won. Oh, wait, only your claims matter?
The object is NOT to find truth. It’s to suck out any resistance from the weak minded regarding ONLY THIS election. Indeed, for the past 4 years I HAVE felt like Kirk stuck under that mind emptying machine as the voices demand obedience.
I understand: we have our claims; especially about 2000, 04, 16. So let’s do what we do every other time: peaceful passing of power (TOO LATE!) and then look into elections. Let’s let it ALL hang out. Questions about voting machines. Tighten up rules for mail in voting. Examine Exact Match, Crosscheck, purging, gerrymandering. Greg Palast and his investigators would be helpful. Sure they have their ‘experts.’
Let’s make it as fair as possible FOR ALL. Use it to make elections better, not as some partisan weapon post election.
Seems neither Republicans nor Direct TV have an interest in any of that.
They have far more right than left channels like RT (Russia TV), OAN, Newsmax
Just to mention just a few. But they had to have three channels whose sole purpose during a volatile time whose purpose was to convince people there’s some vast 2020 conspiracy, and ONLY 2020? Just before the attack on Congress.
Hey, maybe AT&T; who owns Direct; if you’re into hyping conspiracy theories, how about running conspiracy faux-yuck-umentaries on 5C and lizard people? I mean what could go wrong, other than a big Nashvillian BOOM??
AMAZING!!! After the Electoral College, after the attack, Here is the Evidence ‘magically’ disappeared. Poof!
Don’t worry. Unlike the recent patriotic statement by Arnold, I have little doubt there’s still a revolt to stoke with such Goebbels-like programming. It shall return. Once again America will be strapped to the mind emptying machine again.
Wonder if AT&T/DIRECT TV has a patent on that yet?
