Don’t know how well this will appear on page, but we’ll see. My only comment is that, no matter what anyone thinks of Pam Anderson, they might want to try a different spokesperson. Fair, or unfair, in the minds of far too many it will make the video too easy to pass over and dismiss.
I don’t doubt that most of this is true. I’ve seen some of this at the slaughter house level. My experience is that the birds are shocked senseless before their throats are cut and the amount of suffering is minimized by this. Most of this does emphasize the negative and what is true is that the producers are a separate entity from KFC, although KFC does have considerable sway over these independent operators. These abuses shown are individual abuses by fairly low paid workers. When I toured a facility I was surprised at how clean it actually was. The last thing mentioned on this video says it all when the vegetarian agenda is promulgated. There is a lot negative in our food supply and the death of chickens is a necessary part of eating the critters as with any life forms.
I think the fact that 1,000,000 Iraqis have died under our watch is a much more significant issue that should be addressed way before I’m going to be upset over chicken harvesting.
(Note: I have posted this for The Chicken Man as his first comment. As the title implies, The Chicken Man makes his living off of chickens… but not directly processing other than to your table. As a friend for many, many years; one who serves incredibly great chicken I dream of at night occasionally, I thought his commentary regarding this might be interesting. He has requested that any correspondence go through me.
