This may be very old news for some, but I’m curious how many people know this amongst those of us who watched Hogan’s Heroes in the 60’s. John Banner, who played Sgt. Schultz, was Jewish. He spent time in a concentration camp. His whole family was wiped out by the Nazis. And he died shortly after Hogan’s went off the air.
