What’s interesting to me is that the Carolina’s are full of Northerners who went there for the weather. I’d say it’s where we sent all our wingnuts except that there still seem to be heap of them here. Does global warming cause brain dysfunction or is it pollution? Maybe it’s all the steroids in our food.
It’s true, Ana, a lot of Northerners retire to SC, but I’ve been told, as a general rule of thumb, that most of those retiress are very conservative ex-military or ex-law enforcement types. Other less right-wing people retire to Florida, New Mexico or Arizona. I’ve also heard that in parts of the state the air is very polluted and the water isn’t fit to drink — even the hotels and motels install faucet filters because the water is so bad. It’s the direct result of years of right-wing GOP rule and their laissez-faire attitude toward environmental pollution. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if the food grown there is tainted as well and, as you say, all of that could cause brain damage, especially in kids.
