Exactly – our religion has become Capitalism, our houses of worship are financial institutions and our commandments have been reduced to (1) THOU SHALT MAKE A PROFIT AT ANY COST
In the words that are attributed directly to Jesus — the three things that he most denounced — were hypocrisy, deceit and Mammon (AKA the material world and wealth). That pretty much describes the GOP and most of the Dem Party, as well as American culture in general. I laugh out loud whenever someone describes this as a Christian nation — it’s anything but. here are two of my favorite quotes on the suject:
