Another example of raising children via the Duggar Method:” binding children tight.
One of many “Holy Shit” moments from the series “Happy Shiny People” was a segment on “Blanket Training.” If you haven’t seen the series, then let me explain it.
.
It is a style of child training called blanket training. You put the kid on a blanket, probably 6 months old, and you put something they want. Placed just outside of their reach off the blanket. And then they go to reach for it, you hit them, and if they continue to reach right, you get them again. Free will and spirit must be extinguished. So they begin very early.
.
This is the method the Duggars used to begin teaching their children to obey, or be punished. Beginning as soon as they could move around. In the first months of life.
From the IBLP itself… The stipulation was that we had to hold still and submissively accept the beating, and we had to stop crying and be silent and not make a sound. This was a specific part of Gothard’s beating protocol, found in one of his pamphlets: that silent, limp submission to a beating was his metric for a “repentant spirit.”
.
This is the world of many of the Evangelicals. The world of obedience and / or punishment. Control, instead of nurturing children. This is what is behind the false flag of “Parental Rights.” That an Evangelical parent can make sure no kids can read books they find offensive to their religious and /or political views.
.
It’s easy to see what they are doing, unless you choose not to. And sadly, far too many see their vacation, their hobbies, their fun, and their possessions as way too important to focus upon. That will be the death of democracy. That if, the hum in the background of their lives is loud enough, it will all go away. It won’t, it will just get worse as inaction enables them and emboldens them.
.
We seek to open minds to the potential given to us through our DNA by the very universe that created the conditions for us to even exist. They seek to close minds through the words of a good man in Jesus, wrapping them into the moral absolutism of Paul, and then turning it all into a malignant cancer. While most try to do the right thing, they are led astray with weekly propaganda sessions, disguised as worship. I often wonder how the words of such a “Woke” person in the form of the historical Jesus, could be turned so wrong in the hands of the Evangelical leadership? And if their version of God is correct, then why hasn’t it stopped them?
