Earlier this year Republican Representative Virginia Foxx said on the House Floor that the Democrats had a plan to “put seniors to death by their government” and the mainstream press didn’t say they deserved an apology. Republican Representative Ginny Browne-Waite said the Democratic healthcare plan “essentially tells seniors to drop dead” and nobody sanctioned her. Why should Grayson be singled out for telling the truth when their lies were deemed perfectly acceptable?

Ready to run out past the boat load of crap Neo Thugs say about this, climb up to the high diving board and jump off into truth’s deep end? Ready to find out, eh, what’s… UP… DOCK? Hop to it quick as a bunny and read the rest right… HARE!

What I particularly liked about Grayson’s comments was his perfect jujitsu move on the GOP — and the fact that, unlike most Dems, he refused to apologize for telling the truth.

The jujitsu move was taking all the months of right-wing Republican crapola of the GOP wanting health care reform ‘done right’ and slapping Obama around on mythical ‘death panels’ and neatly putting the riposte to this laughable nonsense into a few sentences. The bribed-to-the-max GOP doesn’t have any health care reform plans, except to give more of our money to already wealthy insurance companies; and the only ‘death panels’ are those corporate bureaucrats who deny payments for operations or medications to the insured.

Even more encouraging is when Grayson stood up straight and stuck that facetious GOP demand for an apology right where it belongs. The other Dems should take a hint from him, but I won’t wait for that to happen — there are, sadly, too many who suck at the corporate health care/Big Pharma teat.

It was a shame that Rachel Maddow pressed Grayson so hard to drop the word ‘holocaust’ from his speech — he finally said he could have chosen a better word perhaps. I don’t know what she was thinking; there’s more than one definition of the word ‘holocaust’ — of course it refers to ‘the Holocaust’ of WWII Nazi Germany, but the uncapitalized ‘holocaust’ is also defined as “a great or complete devastation or destruction.” The 40 years of for-profit health care in this country certainly fits that description, as it has devastated families and individuals into bankruptcy and poverty as surely as Katrina destroyed neighborhoods in New Orleans.

BTW, it’s been rumored that Grayson is Obama’s covertly sanctioned ‘attack dog’ on health care reform, but I have no way of proving that.
