SYDNEY, Oct. 16 (UPI) — An Australian beer company has landed itself in Disney’s cross hairs with an ad campaign featuring the likeness of Snow White in bed with semi-nude dwarves. The Foundry, brewers of Jamieson’s Raspberry Ale, said the “Ho White” campaign, based on characters from Disney’s 1937 animated film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves,” is designed to convince consumers the beverage is “anything but sweet,” The (Sydney, Australia) Daily Telegram reported Friday.
The campaign, which includes advertisements online and in bars, features “Ho White” blowing smoke rings while in bed with dwarves renamed “Filthy, Smarmy and Randy” by the company.
However, the advertisements have drawn the attention of unhappy Disney Co. officials, the Telegram said. The Foundry said it has had “a little bit of contact” with Disney officials about the Snow White likeness used in the campaign.

Everyone knows in the entertainment industry who has had to deal with Disney legally that they have no sense of humor, as Jay Ward found out years ago. I wonder if they’ve gone after Family Guy or South Park yet? Hey, if they go after Bullwinkle’s gentle spoofing, then beating up on some ethnicity because they’re “not Disney,” or worse: Mickey assaulting anyone who stands in his way, has got to raise some legal eagle’s attention. Frankly I thought the second (South Park) a bit over the top, but the first (Family Guy); I’m still trying to look around and see if I still have my posterior after all that laughter might have made it fall off.
First Disney gets into the world of bridal jewelry, and now this! Unfortunately, this parody does poke too much fun at the charming and innocent brand that is Disney. And that Snow White must have lots of energy – at least seven times that of a normal woman.
