Without intent, I have collected well over 1,000 beer bottles since the early 70s. When something finally had to be done about the cheap paneling in this old modular, I had a choice. Tear down the walls while, oh, so carefully, replacing the often rotted 1X3s. Or: cover them with The Bottle Collection.

I remember when the news came out that there would be a big brew facility in the northeast mountains of Georgia with oompapa bands and Bavarian chalets and all the German fixings. I believe the town is doing well, but the brewery? The beer seemed to damn near be snuffed in the cradle. I haven’t seen it anywhere. Net sites I’ve trolled say Atlanta, but I haven’t seen it there as of late.
Once again, they loved the concept so much, and were so dedicated to it, apparently they eventually decided to farm farm out the brewing to August Schell. Sigh. Another forgetable beer brewed by a company that decided farming ity out was a good idea.
I have had great contract beers. In fact, as I noted before on this page, Billy Beer was god awful except FX Matt seemed to add a hop twist the other brewers didn’t. I should remember this produc, but I really don’t. So the only thing I can add is that, having hung around northeast Georgia in the late 80s to late 90s, I wish I had had a chance to sip and decide for myself in Helen.
Sorry, you did not get drink Helenboch from the Brewery that was actually in Helen(1990-91). For a short time, the brewery was operational and you could get a sample in the tasting room. Cheers, Dow Scoggins(former pres/brewer)
Yes, I heard about it and always wanted to check it out on my business trips. Thought the whole community sounded interesting.
