This is better than the Wet Hop Ale, even though getting these hops all the way across the globe from New Zealand kind of defies both “fresh” and in any sense “wet.” I felt the same last year when I compared the two. More of a floral sense and nose. Plenty of pillow head that fades soon, but not too soon. Just the right amount of bitter. Chill haze gold. Body just right for the style. The only criticism is that last year, I swear, it was this good only more of everything. Beat my buds more, not less, please!

This is on my best of rack. That’s a compliment and a big one. I am more of an Anchor fan than Sierra Nevada, which has gotten to much credit in comparison over the past few years. Hey Fritz! Anchor needs to get off the pot and be more experimental. So kudos to Sierra for being better, this time! But Foghorn is still better that Bigfoot, and gets too little credit, when it comes to barleywines. Thank you Sierra for fresh hop ales and wet hop ales. Fritz? Find your brew balls again, please.
