Trouble is, while the suggestions you make are correct ones, they may never happen. At least not in our lifetime. Not that many liberals in many states.
We need intense activism. Get out on the streets & raise some hell. Geez, I had to find a pro single payer bumper sticker online and pay for for it too. I feel like I have the only car in town with such a bumper sticker. No protests, no sit-ins, no bumper stickers or even lawn signs. We need to be in this for the long run.
Of course, who knows how the 2010 elections will work out. If the GOP makes gains, I think that will be hasten the end of America as know it and begin it’s long slide into oblivion.
You’re right, Chuck, it won’t happen unless everything collapses to the point where a majority is screaming for blood and ready to toss out the bums in Congress. Of course, judging by the way the economy is going, that collapse seems to be in progress.
It’ll be just our luck that the angry public goes with the mainly corporately-owned Teabag movement and elects their third-party candidates instead of real progressives. Welcome to the full-blown fascist plutocracy, but they’ll call it freedom, just as they called Nazism freedom in 1930s Germany.
