Charges Reduced Against James O’Keefe, Others In Landrieu Stunt

March 26, 2010Federal prosecutors filed reduced charges Friday against conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe and three others in connection with an attempt to to tamper with phone lines in Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu’s New Orleans office.
The new filing charges the four men with entering a federal building under false pretenses, a misdemeanor, The Associated Press reported. They had been arrested in January on felony charges.
All four were expected to plead guilty to the lesser charges, according to MSNBC.

This means the lying little sociopath will be loose on the streets to create more mischief as there will be no jail time for this misdemeanor.
I was pissed when I heard this. The punk will get away with it: be encouraged to do more. Wonder who the “prosecutors” are, George Bush holdovers maybe? Or maybe some deal was cut with promises never to be kept? Making deals with such scum is like making “deals” with a certain snake in certain a garden. The snake will be back no matter what “deals” you make.
I don’t know why more hasn’t been seen about his former college friend at Rutgers, Liz Farkas, who blew the whistle on Jimmy the ‘Journalist’ over his heavily-edited propaganda videos on Planned Parenthood, before his ACORN stunt. Only Susie Madrak at Crooks and Liars and a couple of other websites have reported this story;
Why haven’t the solons in the Big Media included this tidbit in their stories about O’Keefe? Did they really want to bring down ACORN that badly?
When I clicked on the links, I must admit, I found the NYT article unimpressive. Yeah, I disagree, but some of his actions seemed to be simple hit and run journalism. Can be despicable, but making it illegal or prosecuting? I have more problems with that.
However, a pdf downloaded that absolutely needs to be read more widespread. This one is called “What the Transcripts Show…” and what he did is more Nazi than muckraker in nature. For example, he claimed to the Acorn folks that he was her boyfriend and trying to keep her from being beaten again, but then claimed he told them it was to cheat the IRS.
I’d love to put this on the front page under LT Saloon so more can read it, but I can’t copy and paste or do properties on a pdf. It simply refuses. If there’s anyway you can either do it or send me a copy, other than retyping the whole damn thing, I think it belongs on the front page.

Thanks, Joyce. Ken, I don’t think O’Keefe should be prosecuted for his video propaganda or that it should be made illegal, but making sure the readers and viewers of the MSM are aware of his past history is what I was getting at. Even in the stories of O’Keefe’s ACORN fiasco that weren’t on Fox, little to nothing was revealed about his past, and he was occasionally referred to as a ‘journalist,’ ‘documentary filmmaker’ or ‘documentarian.’ Sure, so was Goebbels.
