HERD ABOUT IT?

OK – maybe this is an odd story line for an agricultural writer but this is ridiculous. Have you seen the news that Homeland Security is going to have TV screens at Walmart and other shopping locations broadcasting requests for citizens to report suspicious behavior?

The Walmart video, which will soon be launched at 230 locations nationwide and may eventually be expanded to nearly 600 locations in 27 states, features Napolitano thanking the retailer by name for participating in the program. Napolitano then says: “If you see something suspicious in the parking lot or in the store, say something immediately. Report suspicious activity to your local police or sheriff. If you need help, ask a Walmart manager for assistance.” (Excuse me coud you give me the number for 911?)
Does Homeland Security really think that we wouldn’t report suspicious activity?
” Ah- yeah, I saw them building a rocket launcher in the XYZmart parking lot,
but , like, I thought it was just a scout troop working on a merit badge.”
C’mon people, get real.
Or is this a method of keeping track on all of us in yet another way. Are there 2 way video/audio hookups like on those laptops the school in PA handed out?
What a waste of time and resources. Electricity burned for paranoia and money spent for the same.
Put people to work. Doing real work.
Like maybe growing healthy food in a just and sustainable manner.
That would be real Homeland Security.
