HERD ABOUT IT?
by Ana Grarian
I’m not sure why I dreamed of this, this morning. When I was kid our lawn would be covered in the evening with maybe a hundred wild rabbits. I can clearly remember one evening when we had been out. It was just past dark on a warm summer day. Our house was at the end of a dead end road, and then up through the trees on a long driveway. As we came through to the clearing where our house stood, the headlights swept across a flock? herd? of rabbits nibbling away at the lush green lawn.
Imagine the photo if all the golf balls were bunnies.
I have not seen this since I left home. At the farm I suppose there was too much food available in more protected territory. There were plenty of rabbits, just not out en masse on our lawn. Here in the city, my neighbors have a bunny or two that visit, and I love coming across them while walking the dog in the evening or early morning.
Herd of Rabbits? Some suggestions from the net.
colony of rabbits
down of rabbits
drove of rabbits
husk of rabbits
leash of rabbits
trace of rabbits
trip of rabbits
warren of rabbits
nest of rabbits (young)
wrack of rabbits (young)
Maybe they were planning a show for their parents after hiding while watching the kids do theirs on the circular driveway side lawn?
