What we really need here is a leader who will tell the oil industry to suck it up or lose ALL their tax benefits, exemptions, etc. and… if that doesn’t work… we’ll nationalize part of the industry and compete with them. Star by using the oil reserves.
They shouldn’t be able to jack up prices when there’s no shortage and they’re exporting oil to keep the prices high. Or get all kinds of exemptions to build a pipeline so they can process oil and then send it off to China.
