They might as well have burned a cross on Dr. King’s grave. The Jim Crow majority on the Supreme Court just took away the vote of millions of Hispanic and African-American voters by wiping away Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
When I say “millions” of voters of color will lose their ballots, I’m not kidding. Let’s add it up.
Last year, the GOP Secretary of State of Florida Ken Detzner tried to purge 180,000 Americans, mostly Hispanic Democrats, from the voter rolls. He was attempting to break Katherine Harris’ record.

In one tweet, Issa wrote, “#BENGHAZI UPDATE: I’ve issued four deposition subpoenas to @StateDept officials as part of @GOPoversight’s investigation.”
Minutes later, Issa tweeted that, “All 4 subpoenaed officials led bureaus where @StateDept’s review found deficiencies contributing to lack of security during #Benghazi attack.”
But, why would Issa suddenly do a 360, and start up the Benghazi investigation again, when he’s been so adamant about getting to the bottom of the so-called IRS scandal?
And why are we NOT surprised?-OEN
Last night we got the answer: The IG only reported on conservative groups because that’s what Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), the notoriously partisan chairman of the House Oversight Committee, told him to do. Via The Hill:
The Treasury inspector general whose report helped drive the IRS targeting controversy says it limited its examination to conservative groups because of a request from House Republicans.
A spokesman for Russell George, Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration, said they were asked – by House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) – “to narrowly focus on Tea Party organizations.
The inspector general’s audit found that groups seeking tax-exempt status with “Tea Party” and “patriots” in their name did receive extra attention from the IRS, with some facing years of delay and inappropriate questions from the agency.
